“Steeeeeeeeeve Dailisan, nakatutok, 24 Oras.”

An educator and a reporter. That is how Steve Fabella Dailisan describes himself. This 26-year-old news reporter in a famous broadcasting network, the GMA Network, is indeed a living testimony of why the College of Communication is the home of “champions”.

Steve graduated Bachelor in Journalism at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines last 2008 as Magna Cum Laude. Years after, he became a news reporter in GMA Network and later news anchor in GMA News TV Live. He is now a Senior News Correspondent of the said network. Indeed, a champion in his own field.

“It’s not who I am underneath, it’s what I do that defines me.”

Here, a quote from Steve’s facebook account. Truly, it is what he does that defines him now. He is now living the dream of almost every communication students: the glamour of the media industry. Despite that, he did not forget to bring back something to his Alma Mater. Like I mentioned earlier, Steve also described himself as an educator. Literally, he has been teaching Journalism subject at the College of Communication in PUP years after he graduated.

Truly, Steve Dailisan’s achievements are a remarkable reminder that everyone can dream big. All it takes is hard work and excellence and success will chase you, pants down (from the movie, 3 Idiots).

We are proud that we belong to the College of Champions. Not just because we have Steve Dailisan or Papa Jack and other notable alumnus, but because we have a college that is making us dream higher than we could ever imagine.
